SHIGARAKI - 信楽

The concept of “Wa,” or Japaneseness,
derives from the historical figure Rikyu’s spirit of “wabi-sabi.” Wabi-sabi refers to the acceptance of an object just as it is. Here, the essence within the clay, glazing techniques,
and 400-year history of the Shigaraki pottery tradition provides an elevated expression of the true meaning of “Wa.”
